Top Music Videos

All praise Katy Perry. Apparently the album “Teenage Dream” became the first album in six plus years to pump out four No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100. Brace yourselves, because the song “E.T.” is out of this world.

Overall this album is the ninth album ever to produce four No. 1’s in the Hot 100. However, it’s the first solo female album since diva Mariah Carey to hit it this big, which is especially surprising (no offense) considering the fabulous females who have been in the industry longer like Britney Spears, Pink, or Beyonce.

“E.T.” is a musical collaboration featuring Kanye West. “E.T.” happened to push “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga out of its comfortable chair in the No.1 position. The music video for “E.T.” was recently released. Critics are split between crazy-about-it or just plain crazy. Take a peek at Perry on another planet, even check out Kanye…this video is something else (interpret that how you want).

Chris Brown and F.A.M.E.

In general, it seems we are a forgiving society concerning celebrities. In essence we condone bad behavior. Snoop Dogg smokes weed, big deal. Christina Aguilera, as a mother and pop star, recently gets a DUI and we barely bat an eyelash.

So what of Chris Brown and his domestic violence? It seems crying on stage during a Michael Jackson tribute last year singing “Man in the Mirror” is enough to pay the price of sin because as of today his fourth album dropped. The album is called F.A.M.E. and features artists such as Justin Bieber.

F.A.M.E. is supposedly an acronym for “Fans Are My Everything,” an expression of gratitude toward the fans who have stood by his side during these tough times of repentance and recovering (although an angry outburst today on Good Morning America proves that bad habits do indeed die hard).

Regardless if F.A.M.E. itself is a platinum record, Breezy will be just fine. Right now, he has “Yeah 3x” and “Look at Me Now” ft. Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes climbing the charts and saturating the radio.

I guess we will see if the public has once again put the past in the past as the record sells worldwide. Perhaps the album cover should have been the leaked photos of Rihanna rather than a smug mug of the resurrected Chris Brown.

Tribute to the Rapper Nate Dogg

Regardless of your personal preference in music, it is important to acknowledge and pay respect to those who made an important impact on the music industry. Yesterday, the American musician and rapper known as Nate Dogg passed away.

Nate Dogg’s career kick started when his soulful voice was founded by Dr. Dre. He signed with Death Row Records in 1993. Not a year later Nate Dogg busted into the music industry with his first hit single “Regulate” with Warren G. To this day “Regulate” is a well-known anthem. He worked with a number of other artists throughout his career including big names like Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, and Eminem.

In his entire career he has contributed to and featured in 40 chart singles. Nate Dogg was also nominated for four different Grammy Awards for four different songs. One Grammy nomination was as recent as 2007 for “Shake That” with Eminem.

Fellow rappers and artists paid tribute to Nate Dogg. I guess God just needed a regulator.

Popular Songs–Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You) by Enrique Iglesias

Enrique Iglesias took a hiatus for some time, but came back strong and better than ever. With his hit Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You) Enrique combines with fellow popular artists Ludacris and DJ Frank E. Tonight is the number one hit on the radio across all genres of music currently. Tonight is also the number one pop song on the charts. This song has been on the charts for fifteen weeks and is the second hit single off of Enrique’s album also titled Tonight (I’m Loving You).

The song was actually explicit, and altered by popular demand in order to be radio appropriate. The music video was filmed last December in preparation for the album’s release.

Listen to Music Free Online

Every website that streams music has its perks and pitfalls. For me, I hate that Pandora doesn’t allow me to skip a certain number of songs…why is the outdated Tatu on my Lady Gaga Radio anyhow? With Grooveshark, I love that I can pick the songs I want to listen to, but something should intervene with my obsession with Taylor Swift.

An alternative to these popular sites is Jango.com. Jango is one of the best ways to listen to free music on the Internet, it combines the radio style of Pandora and allows you to also create your own station. Jango is a social streaming radio. You can pick a genre, and Jango will play non-stop associated streaming music. You can rate each song you listen to, which begins to customize the station. The entire thing is free.

What sets Jango apart from other music websites is the ability to listen to other people’s stations around the globe. Once you create your personal station, you can listen to anyone and everyones station on Jango. People can also tune into your station. This opens all kinds of opportunity to find new music you may like. Jango takes music to a different and interactive level.
